The great craftsmanship that has gone into the handpan I play can really be felt in each touch and I love that about it. Apichaya Kongkarnka | Thailand I just got my Harmonic Handpan! Houmaan | Iran Started my handpan journey with this beautiful piece of art and still enjoying, thank you harmonicart! Asterios | United Kingdom This is the best Handpan Drum I've found! High quality and a very nice price from Thomann! Lets's see the main pros! - Made of high quality German stainless steel! - Expressive and warm sound, full of nice overtones! - Tuning is fine, as it's the design! - Hard shell cover and backpack bag are included! There are no cons for me! The only thing I would like to see is some models tuned in 432HZ, as I prefer that tuning! All in all, a fine handpan with a very nice price (thanks to Thomann!) Highly recommended, if you want a high quality stainless steel handpan with a very nice price!! Happy new year everyone!! I've owned this handpan for about a year and can honestly say it is an excellent instrument. The layer of paint helps to attenuate the too metallic sound, and it is possible to obtain a clear and precise, and balanced sound with an excellent sustain. Alex Monsa | Colombia My experience with the Harmonic handpan has been great !! Its sound and vibration are very relaxing, and I use them for meditation and performance. It is also nice when mixed with other instruments to make music because its sound is very special. I want to be around people who like to work and have a passion for what they do. You can feel that with Harmonic Art. Andrés Gomm | Spain I love playing the Harmonic, a very impressive, dynamic handpan, and it sounds beautiful! The clarity, the intuitiveness, the tone, the balance, the feel... Everything is just incredible. Harmonic Art handpans feature unique finishes that highlight them as true masterpieces. They are tuned in different scales and are great for meditation & yoga. I would highly recommend the Harmonic Art handpans to anyone looking for these hand-hammered sound sculptures. Laurent Fouache | France Now I have my MASTER12 ursa minor D, and i'm so happy, i want to thank all of you guys you are the best ! Clara F. | Germany I've been looking at the Harmonic Art Handpans for a while now to use in my programs and I've also been fortunate enough to have been able to test play it before buying it online and I must say this deal is as good as it gets. A lovely and clear sounding Handpan. Claudio Canzano | Italy Happy to announce my collaboration Ambassador with one of the most important Handpan makers in the world: Harmonic Art. Heartfelt thanks Miss. Madeleine Rivera. Kathleen Heard | USA Robin received his handpan yesterday. It arrived in perfect condition and tone is perfect!. He will be sending you pictures and a video shortly. Thank you so much! Lukas Janzen | Germany Thank you for making such amazing instruments! I got my Harmonic Supreme Dominant 7th about two months ago and played almost every day on it. To me it feels like the sound from it immediately “touches” my brain. Hard to describe.. but you know that your Handpans sound great anyway Beat Schenkel | Bali More than a year ago I purchased your "Dominant 7th D/ A, C, D, E, F, G, A" model. Loving it! Jerome Duval-Fleury | Australia I got my harmonic art! Whaouuu soooooo goooooddddddd :)))) Really happy! Few gigs coming soon. The instrument improved so much since the first generation made by PanArt! Alfredo Megy | USA Hey guys! I truly appreciate how the makers of this magnificent instrument have treated me as a customer. I come and go from LA to Argentina, so I had it shipped to my home in Los Angeles. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, went on as smooth as silk! Very professional human beings that CARE about their customers. I thank all the people at Harmonic Art and... About the Harmonic The Schlagwerk Harmonic Art handpan is a handcrafted, hand-tuned steel instrument built from high-quality materials. It is a unique sound sculpture that produces a captivatingly clear tonality while maintaining a cathedral-like, heavenly and relaxing sound. The Harmonic's unparalleled tonal quality, stable dynamic range, and crisp tones work perfectly in various settings for performance, improvisation, sound healing, meditation, yoga and developing skills in playing percussion. Ross McCallum Tokhi The Harmonic is forged by hand and detailed in a tuning ring until the correct note, pitch, and form is achieved. The steel used for the Harmonic is exceptionally resilient, resulting in an instrument with a perfectly soft yet durable and long-lasting sound. The Harmonic design produces a sonic range that combines to enhance the overtones throughout the whole instrument. Simultaneously, the unique features also allow the instrument's tonality to be remarkably clear and pure. The Harmonic is typically positioned on the musician’s lap or mounted on a stand, while the fingertips and thumbs are used to strike different zones on the instrument surface to create distinct tones. The Harmonic is a mesmerizing musical instrument built for free improvisation and self-exploration while also providing a wonderful complement when played alongside other musical instruments. Constructed with the utmost attention to detail, every Harmonic Art is a true masterpiece. Harmonic Art offers the largest handpan collection available today. At our Harmonic Art Campus located in Medellín, Colombia, we create the finest handpans in the world made with the best premium materials and quality craftsmanship. Our main building is the Harmonic House complex (middle of the picture, point “C”), purpose-built as a dedicated handpan workspace only. In our workshop, every detail of the Harmonic Art handpan is carefully considered and meticulously crafted to meet each customer’s discerning eye and ear. Harmonics are built using very strategic hammering, a strobe tuning device, well-trained ears, and years of experience! Schlagwerk headquarters in Gingen/Fils, Germany Harmonic Art Campus in Medellín, Colombia The Harmonic upper shell has a central note and individual tone fields around the outer circumference, all hand-tuned. Depending on how it is played, it may sound like a harp, bell, or steelpan. The notes are constructed in a “zig-zag” sequence on its outer circle from the lowest to the highest. This allows performers to ascend or descend the scale by playing the notes alternately with their right and left hands. Each tone field has multiple overtones on a flat area around an inverted oval in the middle, with gaps between the notes for percussive slaps. The materials used for the Harmonic are carefully selected for the beautiful sound they produce and to ensure the instrument is an impressive sculpture. Unlike other instruments, there are no musical modalities or methods to learn and no pre-written musical scores or songs to memorize. This instrument marries rhythm, melody, and harmony in a single flow. The Harmonic is a straightforward and effortless instrument to play. Since there are no “wrong” musical notes in the scale, it is fully capable of generating a prolonged, serene, and hypnotic sound. This instrument provides the rarest of gifts - creative freedom for all musicians. The lower half shell is a simplified surface with a round port in its center and Ghatam / Udu attributes that use Helmholtz resonance. The lower shell is tuned so that a long, sustained note can be generated when the player slaps the rim of the port. It may also create a low tone when slapped with the palm. The outer circumference has a protective high-quality rubber trim ring, and the lower shell opening is shaped with a double curvature for a more comfortable grip during transport. Each fundamental tone has an overtone tuned to an octave above it and an additional compound fifth note above the octave. The overtones can be highlighted or silenced depending on how and where the musician strikes the notes. Players can activate the octave note when striking the long side, and the compound fifth can be activated when striking the short side. The overtones may be heard as an integrating part of the note being played, among various levels of overtones that float around the main notes. Every note on your Harmonic should be fine-tuned, with overtones that give each a rich, layered quality. The Harmonic is truly capable of conducting a small orchestra on your lap and bringing the music up from the depth of your body. The Harmonic is a fascinating and enchanting musical instrument. It represents the union and requirements of an excellent quality sound sculpture, genuinely unique and powerfully exclusive. Harmonic Art® is a registered trademark for musical instruments
